The Party's Over

New hands in the clay
The last day on The Chameleon Show was last Saturday.  I am hoping to have an  other such show in 4 years or perhaps sooner. I get a look at the show and some of the show classes that took it in take a look at the slide show put together by Seymour Art Gallery.

Chameleon is Official Open

The official opening of Chameleon was well attended by the public. Many of the artists were there to explain their work and up the profile of polymer clay as an art medium.

There were demonstrations, cookies and strawberries to entertain people. Over the next month I will continue to post pictures from the gallery, many pictures, few words.
Meanwhile outside - Seymour Gallery has the best setting imaginable

Carolyn Wearible Art

Carolyn Joy Good has a way with colour. Her necklaces are one of a kind wearable art that demand attention. She has designed ingenious paper-mache display pieces allow the necklaces to be hung on the wall for this show, but they will look even better coordinated with just the right outfit.

I will have close ups of the innovational scarf jewelry in later posts.

Tina Up Close

Just a peek at Tina Holden's work. Pictures do not do it justice. You just have to see it in person.

The Larger Picture

Here are two views of the gallery taken by Meghan Leeburn, the gallery assistant. Meghan did a brilliant job lighting the show and putting on the finishing touches.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank  Sarah Cavanaugh - Curator of Seymour Gallery and the Seymour Gallery volunteers for putting this show together with such style and grace.

The Night Before the Magic Begins

Red bird waiting to enter from stage left.

Chameleon Show will be open to the public on the 5th of February. It is always exciting to see and show come together. Here is one of the pieces from the show. This beautiful art doll is by Olga Osnach who brings a new twist on old world charm.

I will continue to give you glimpses of the show in the days to come.

Not for the Faint Hearted

Here is an other sneak peek of what to expect at the Chameleon Show. Carolyn Joy Good has sent me a  picture of one of her earring necklace sets that looks somehow tropical in spite of the cool colours.
